Acne and oily skin can be persistent and frustrating. This treatment works below the surface to target the factors that contribute to breakouts — inflammation, congestion and bacterial activity — helping skin settle more quickly and stay clearer over time.
With a course of appointments, redness reduces, pores appear clearer and the skin begins to feel more controlled, comfortable and even.
Who is Suitable
ClearSkin is suitable for adults with active acne, oily or acne prone skin, congestion, inflammatory breakouts or acne scarring. It is safe for all skin types and tones, including darker complexions.
ClearSkin is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those with active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area, or for those with photosensitive skin conditions. A patch test is required before your first appointment. Full suitability is confirmed at your consultation.

Where persistent redness or post-inflammatory marks are present alongside acne, we may incorporate Dye-VL. Using selective wavelengths between 500–600nm, it targets the blood vessels beneath the skin responsible for redness and flushing, helping to calm the complexion and improve overall clarity.

Healing Process
After treatment, mild redness or slight swelling may occur but typically subsides within a few hours. Most patients resume normal activities straight away.

How many appointments will I need for acne laser treatment?
Most patients see meaningful improvement after a course of 3 to 6 appointments, spaced 6 weeks apart. The number depends on the severity of your acne, whether we are treating active breakouts, scarring or both, and how your skin responds over time. We will assess your skin at each appointment and adjust the plan accordingly.
Is ClearSkin laser treatment suitable for all skin types?
Yes. ClearSkin uses non-ablative 1540nm technology combined with contact cooling and vacuum, making it safe and effective for all skin types including darker skin tones. It is one of the reasons we chose this technology, it allows us to treat a wide range of patients confidently and consistently.
Can ClearSkin treat both active acne and acne scarring?
Yes. ClearSkin targets the bacteria and sebaceous glands responsible for active breakouts while also stimulating collagen production to improve the appearance of acne scarring over time. Many patients present with both, and the treatment is designed to address them together.
When will I see results from acne laser treatment?
Most patients notice a reduction in active breakouts within the first few appointments. Improvements in skin texture and scarring develop more gradually as collagen remodels, typically becoming more visible over 2 to 3 months. Full results from a course are usually appreciated at around 3 to 6 months.
What should I do to prepare for my acne laser treatment appointment?
Come to your appointment with clean skin, free from makeup and skincare products. Avoid prolonged sun exposure in the days leading up to treatment. If you are using topical retinoids or active skincare, let us know at consultation as we may advise pausing them beforehand.
Can I combine acne laser treatment with other treatments?
Yes, and for many patients a combined approach gives the best results. ClearSkin works well alongside SkinPen Microneedling for scarring, Dermalux LED Therapy for ongoing inflammation management, and targeted skincare. We will discuss the most appropriate combination at your consultation.
