THE TREATMENT

Restore Balance.

Start Fresh.

Dermal fillers evolve with you. What felt right two years ago may no longer reflect how you want to look today, or results from treatment elsewhere may simply not be sitting as they should. Filler dissolving offers a safe, medically performed way to reverse hyaluronic acid filler and return your features to a more natural, balanced state.

Using hyaluronidase, an enzyme that precisely breaks down hyaluronic acid, unwanted filler is dissolved and naturally reabsorbed by the body. The treatment is straightforward and minimally invasive. A series of small injections are placed into the target areas, and most patients begin to see results within 24 to 48 hours, with the full outcome settling over the following week.

Who is Suitable

Filler dissolving is suitable if you have hyaluronic acid filler that you would like removed or corrected. It may be appropriate if:

You are unhappy with the result of a previous filler treatment, including results achieved elsewhere. You have experienced filler migration, unevenness or the development of lumps. You would like to return to a more natural appearance. There is a clinical reason to remove filler, including vascular complications.

Filler dissolving is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Consultation

In Scotland, hyaluronidase is a prescription-only medicine. Every patient is seen by Dr Steph or Dr Yasmin in a full consultation before treatment takes place, ensuring the approach is clinically appropriate and the outcome is planned carefully.

How it works

Dissolve. Restore. Begin Again.

Hyaluronidase is injected precisely into the areas where filler is present. The enzyme works quickly to break down the hyaluronic acid, which is then naturally reabsorbed by the body. A gentle massage encourages even distribution. Most patients begin to see results within 24 to 48 hours, with the full outcome settling over the following week.

What to Expect

Aftercare

Dermal filler treatments require minimal downtime. You can return to your normal day the same day, with a few simple guidelines to follow in the first 24 to 48 hours.

Immediately After Treatment

Some swelling, redness and tenderness is normal immediately after treatment. Avoid touching or pressing the treated area for the remainder of the day. Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 4 hours.

First 24 - 48 Hours

Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and alcohol for the first 48 hours.

First 2 Weeks

Avoid any facial treatments including massage, microneedling or laser for at least 2 weeks. Do not judge your results until all swelling has fully settled, which can take up to 2 weeks. If you wish to have new filler placed, wait a minimum of 2 weeks.

Most patients begin to see changes within 24 to 48 hours. The full outcome can take up to a week to settle depending on the amount of filler present and how your body responds.

Yes. We regularly see patients whose results were achieved elsewhere. A full assessment is carried out at consultation to determine the appropriate treatment plan.

The injections cause mild discomfort, similar to having filler placed. Numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep the experience as comfortable as possible.

Yes, when performed by a qualified prescribing practitioner. Hyaluronidase is a prescription-only medicine in Scotland and every patient is assessed by Steph before treatment proceeds.

We recommend waiting a minimum of two weeks to allow the area to fully settle before any new filler is placed.

“The clinic is gorgeous – earthy glam very clean. I met the beautiful Yasmin who explained in detail what my options were to suit my needs , had a bit of a giggle and girly chat. The treatment we settled on was botox on upper lip. My lips were thouroughly cleaned before 4 injections were entered into my lip. Stingy – sure but only a little. Once done we arranged for a review i paid and left feeling really good about the whole experience. Thankyou”
