What to Expect
Aftercare
Wrinkle relaxing injections require no downtime. You can return to your normal day immediately after treatment, with a few simple guidelines to follow in the first 24 hours.
Immediately After Treatment
You may notice small raised areas at the injection sites that settle within a few minutes. Mild redness or tenderness is normal and resolves quickly. Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas for the rest of the day.
First 24 Hours
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and lying flat for 4 hours after treatment. Do not apply pressure to the treated area. Alcohol is best avoided for the remainder of the day.

Results typically last around 12 weeks, although this varies between patients. With regular treatment over time, many patients find the intervals between appointments gradually extend.
Are underarm Botox injections painful?
For most patients the discomfort is mild. The injections are relatively superficial and the treatment is quick, so even without any pain relief the procedure is very manageable. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how straightforward it is.
How many injections are needed?
The number of injections varies depending on the size of the treatment area, but typically around 20 to 30 small injections are made into each underarm. The needles used are very fine and the whole treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
Can I use deodorant after the treatment?
We recommend avoiding deodorant and any other underarm products for 24 hours after treatment. After that you can return to your normal routine as usual.
Will it affect my ability to exercise?
We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. After that there are no restrictions and you can return to all normal activities including exercise.
Is hyperhidrosis botox available on the NHS?
In some cases hyperhidrosis can be treated on the NHS, however access varies significantly and waiting times can be long. Many patients choose to have treatment privately for faster access and a more personalised approach.
Who is not suitable for this treatment?
This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Patients with certain neuromuscular conditions or known allergies to botulinum toxin should not have this treatment. A full medical history will be taken at your consultation to confirm suitability before any treatment is carried out.
