THE TREATMENT
Clearer, Brighter, Even Skin
Pigment changes such as sunspots, age spots, freckles and post-inflammatory marks are very common, particularly as the skin matures or after years of UV exposure. These changes often sit at different depths in the skin, which is why a single treatment rarely addresses everything. Our approach uses advanced light and laser technology to gradually lift excess pigment, smooth visible sun damage and restore a more balanced tone.
The treatment is tailored to your individual skin. We assess the type, pattern and depth of your pigmentation and selects the most appropriate wavelength and protocol to support a safe and predictable improvement. Over time skin appears clearer, fresher and more refined with a more uniform glow.
Who is Suitable
Laser pigmentation correction is suitable for adults with sunspots, age spots, freckles, melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation or uneven skin tone. A full skin assessment is carried out before treatment to confirm the type and depth of pigmentation and select the most appropriate approach.
Laser pigmentation correction is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those taking photosensitising medications, for those with active skin infections, or for those with certain skin conditions. A patch test is required before your first appointment. Full suitability is confirmed at consultation.

THE TECHNOLOGY
Uses of the DyeVL Laser
01 /
Sun Damage and Age Spots
Targets excess melanin in sunspots and age spots, breaking down discolouration and gradually lifting pigment for a clearer, more even complexion.
02 /
Freckles
Precisely targets areas of concentrated melanin to reduce the appearance of freckles while leaving surrounding skin unaffected.
03 /
Melasma
Addresses deeper, more stubborn pigmentation by targeting melanin at multiple layers, gradually improving tone and reducing the appearance of melasma over a course of appointments.
04 /
Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation
Reduces the marks left behind after breakouts or skin trauma by targeting residual melanin deposits and encouraging a more even skin tone.
05 /
Uneven Skin Tone
Improves overall skin clarity and uniformity by lifting areas of discolouration and restoring a more balanced, refined complexion.
Non-Ablative
Healing Process
Dye-VL targets pigment beneath the skin’s surface without damaging the outer layer, meaning treatment is comfortable with minimal downtime.
Also used in treatment
ClearLift — Collagen Stimulation and Skin Rejuvenation
Where skin laxity, fine lines or overall dullness are present alongside pigmentation concerns, we may incorporate ClearLift. Working beneath the skin’s surface, it stimulates collagen production to improve firmness, radiance and overall skin quality without any downtime.
How it works
Assess Target Correct
Every pigmentation concern is different. Before treatment begins, the type, pattern and depth of your pigmentation is assessed carefully to determine the most appropriate wavelength and protocol. Dye-VL is then applied to the treatment area, delivering selective light energy that targets melanin deposits beneath the skin’s surface without affecting the surrounding tissue. The pigment absorbs the energy, breaks down and is gradually cleared by the body’s natural processes. Over a course of appointments, skin tone becomes progressively clearer, more even and more refined.

Healing & Downtime
Unlike ablative laser treatments, Dye-VL targets pigment beneath the skin’s surface without damaging the outer layer.
Healing Process
After treatment, some pigmented areas may initially appear darker before gradually fading. This is a normal part of the process as the broken-down pigment moves to the surface and disperses. The full effect of each appointment becomes visible over the following four to six weeks.
No Downtime
You can return to work and your normal activities immediately after your appointment. You may experience some mild redness or warmth in the treated area for a few hours. Protect the skin from sun exposure and apply SPF daily throughout your course of treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions Answered
What is laser pigmentation correction?
Laser pigmentation correction uses Dye-VL technology to target and break down areas of excess melanin in the skin. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment, which then disperses naturally over the following weeks. It is effective for sunspots, age spots, freckles, melasma, post-inflammatory marks and uneven skin tone.
How many appointments will I need?
Most patients require a course of appointments for best results, spaced 6 weeks apart. The number depends on the type, depth and extent of your pigmentation. A clear recommendation is given at your consultation.
Does laser pigmentation correction hurt?
Most patients experience only a mild warmth or snapping sensation during treatment. The procedure is well tolerated and no numbing cream is required.
Why does pigmentation look darker after treatment?
It is normal for treated areas to appear temporarily darker immediately after treatment. This is part of the process — the broken-down pigment moves to the surface before gradually dispersing. The full result becomes visible over four to six weeks.
Can laser treat melasma?
Yes, though melasma requires careful assessment as it can be more complex to treat than other forms of pigmentation. The most appropriate protocol is selected at your consultation and treatment is approached gradually to ensure a safe and predictable result.
Is laser pigmentation correction suitable for all skin types?
A full skin assessment is carried out before treatment to confirm suitability. Fitzpatrick skin type is considered when selecting the appropriate settings to ensure treatment is safe and effective.
How long do results last?
Results can be long-lasting, particularly for sunspots and age spots. However, new pigmentation can develop with UV exposure over time. Daily SPF use is strongly recommended to protect and maintain your results.
