Radiesse is an injectable biostimulator made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. It works in two distinct ways: the gel provides an immediate lifting and volumising effect, while the calcium-based microspheres act as a scaffold that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production as the product is gradually broken down.
The result is both immediate and progressive. Patients see an instant improvement in volume and firmness at the time of treatment, with continued enhancement over the following months as new collagen develops. Results typically last 12 to 18 months depending on the area treated and individual factors.
Radiesse is used to treat facial lines and wrinkles, loss of volume in the mid face and cheeks, skin laxity and reduced firmness, jawline and lower face contouring, and age-related volume loss in the hands. The most appropriate product size and treatment plan is discussed at your consultation.
Who is Suitable
Radiesse is suitable for adults experiencing volume loss, skin laxity or reduced firmness who are looking for a longer-lasting result with collagen-stimulating benefits.
Radiesse is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those with a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, for those with bleeding disorders, or for those with a known hypersensitivity to any of its components. Full suitability is assessed at your consultation.

How it works
Lift Firm Regenerate
Radiesse works in two ways from a single appointment. The gel carrier provides an immediate lifting and volumising effect, restoring structure and contour to the treated area straight away. At the same time, the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres act as a scaffold beneath the skin, stimulating the body’s own fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. As the gel is gradually absorbed, the collagen network it has triggered remains, continuing to improve skin firmness and quality for up to 18 months.
What to Expect
Aftercare
Radiesse requires minimal downtime and most patients return to their normal day immediately. There are a few simple guidelines to follow
Immediately After Treatment
Some swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection sites is normal immediately after treatment. Avoid touching the treated area and do not apply makeup for at least 12 hours.
First 24 Hours
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid blood thinning medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen where possible as these can increase bruising.
First Two Weeks
Avoid other facial treatments including massage, microneedling or laser for at least two weeks. Avoid excessive sun exposure and apply SPF daily to the treated area.

Does Radiesse hurt?
Most patients find the treatment manageable. Radiesse is supplied with lidocaine to improve comfort during injection.
