THE TREATMENT
Gone in Minutes. Gone for Good.
Seborrhoeic keratoses are common, benign growths that develop on the skin’s surface. Though harmless, they can be rough or raised, catch on clothing, or simply affect how you feel about your appearance. Laser removal offers a safe, precise and permanent solution.
Using the Alma Harmony Laser, a medical grade system renowned for its accuracy and safety, laser energy targets the lesion directly, removing it quickly while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. Most individual lesions take just a few seconds to treat and the overall appointment is usually complete within 30 minutes.
Before any treatment takes place, each lesion is assessed by our qualified technician to confirm it is a seborrhoeic keratosis and appropriate for laser removal. Results are permanent. Once a lesion is removed it will not return to the same site, though new growths may develop elsewhere over time.
Who is Suitable
Laser removal is suitable for most adults with benign seborrhoeic keratoses on the face, neck, chest, back or body. A professional assessment is required before treatment to confirm that each lesion is suitable for laser removal.
Laser removal is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those with active skin infections in the treatment area, or for those with certain skin conditions affecting the treatment site.
How it works
Assess. Treat. Heal.
Each appointment begins with a careful assessment of the lesion to confirm it’s suitable for laser removal. The Alma Harmony Laser is then applied directly to the growth, delivering a precise burst of energy that removes the tissue quickly and cleanly while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. A small scab forms at the treatment site, which heals naturally over the following seven to fourteen days, leaving smooth, clear skin beneath.
Recovery
Healing & Downtime
Laser removal of seborrhoeic keratoses causes minimal trauma to the surrounding skin. The laser seals the tissue as it works, reducing the risk of bleeding and supporting a clean, uncomplicated healing process.
Healing Process
After laser removal a small scab forms at the treatment site. This is a normal part of the healing process and should not be picked or disturbed. The scab will fall away naturally over seven to fourteen days, leaving smooth skin beneath. In most cases there is no scarring.
No Downtime
You can return to work and your normal routine on the same day as your appointment. There is no recovery period required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions Answered
Are seborrhoeic keratoses contagious?
No. They are not viral or bacterial, and they aren’t contagious, so a growth won’t spread to other people or to other parts of your own body.
Can seborrhoeic keratoses turn into skin cancer?
No. Seborrhoeic keratoses do not turn into skin cancer, even after several years, and they don’t raise your risk of developing skin cancer or other skin problems. That said, some skin lesions can resemble seborrhoeic keratoses in their early stages, so any growth that changes, bleeds or looks unusual should always be assessed by a clinician.
What causes seborrhoeic keratoses?
It is unknown what causes them, though they tend to run in families, so there is likely an inherited tendency, and if you’ve had one, you’re at greater risk of developing others.
Do seborrhoeic keratoses need to be removed?
No. They don’t need treatment, but many people choose removal if a growth becomes irritated by clothing or they don’t like how it looks.
Is treatment available on the NHS?
Treatments for seborrhoeic keratoses are not funded by the NHS, as removal is generally considered cosmetic rather than medically necessary.
Will removal leave a scar?
Laser removal typically heals cleanly with a low risk of scarring. A small scab forms at the treatment site and falls away naturally within seven to fourteen days.
Can they come back after removal?
While removal is often permanent, new growths may appear elsewhere over time, so it’s normal to develop further seborrhoeic keratoses in other areas as you age.

MOHSEN G.
“I had a great experience at Quiet Aesthetics. Steph is absolutely lovely and took the time during my consultation to explain everything thoroughly, helping me understand exactly what I needed and why. I never felt rushed, and I really appreciated how educational the consultation was.
Stuart was also friendly and welcoming on reception, which made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived.
The treatment itself was relaxed and professional. One thing that really stood out was their amazing facial scan technology. It shows areas where there’s potential for improvement and keeps a record of your face and skin over time so you can track your progress. I found it incredibly impressive and such a great addition to the overall experience.
I would definitely recommend Quiet Aesthetics!”
