What to Expect
Aftercare
Tear trough filler requires minimal downtime. You can return to your normal day the same day, with a few simple guidelines to follow in the first 24 to 48 hours.
Immediately After Treatment
Some swelling, bruising and redness beneath the eyes is normal immediately after treatment and is not a cause for concern. Avoid touching or pressing the treated area. Do not apply makeup for at least 4 hours following your appointment.
First 24 - 48 Hours
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and alcohol for the first 24 hours as these can increase swelling and affect healing.
First 2 Weeks
Avoid any other facial treatments including massage, microneedling or laser for at least 2 weeks following treatment. Apply SPF daily to protect the treated area.

Does the treatment hurt?
The under-eye area is sensitive but most patients find the treatment very well tolerated. We use a fine cannula rather than a sharp needle, which significantly reduces discomfort and the risk of bruising. The filler also contains lidocaine to help numb the area during treatment.

Can tear trough filler improve fine lines under the eyes?
Tear trough filler addresses hollowing and volume loss beneath the eye but is not the primary treatment for fine surface lines.
