Thread veins and rosacea are among the most common skin concerns we see in clinic. Persistent redness, visible vessels around the nose and cheeks, flushing and sensitivity can all affect confidence and make daily life more challenging. These conditions rarely resolve on their own, but with the right laser approach they can be managed effectively and progressively improved over time.
Using Dye-VL technology on the Harmony XL Pro, selective wavelengths of light target the blood vessels beneath the skin responsible for redness and visible veins. The vessel walls absorb the light energy, collapse and are gradually reabsorbed by the body, reducing their appearance without affecting the surrounding skin.
No two patients present the same way. Before treatment begins, a full assessment is carried out to understand the pattern and extent of your redness or thread veins, identify your triggers and select the most appropriate protocol. A course of appointments is typically recommended for best results, spaced 6 weeks apart.
Who is Suitable
Thread vein and rosacea management is suitable for adults with visible thread veins, persistent facial redness, rosacea or flushing. A full assessment is carried out before treatment to confirm suitability and plan the most appropriate approach.
This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those taking photosensitising medications, for those with active skin infections, or for those with certain vascular conditions. A patch test is required before your first appointment. Full suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Healing Process
After treatment you may notice some mild redness or warmth in the treated area. This is a normal response and typically settles within a few hours. Visible thread veins may appear temporarily darker or more prominent immediately after treatment before gradually fading over the following weeks as the body reabsorbs the treated vessels.

You can return to work and your normal activities immediately after your appointment. You may experience some mild redness or warmth in the treated area for a few hours. Protect the skin from sun exposure and apply SPF daily throughout your course of treatment.

How many appointments will I need?
A course of appointments is typically recommended for best results, spaced 6 weeks apart. The number depends on the severity of your redness or thread veins and how your skin responds. A clear recommendation is given at your consultation.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients describe a mild snapping or warming sensation during treatment. It is well tolerated and no numbing cream is required. Any redness or warmth after treatment typically settles within a few hours.
Can rosacea be cured with laser?
Laser treatment cannot cure rosacea but it can significantly reduce its visible symptoms, including persistent redness, flushing and thread veins. Alongside identifying and managing personal triggers, regular laser appointments can help patients feel much more in control of their skin.
