Skin Concerns
Pigmentation and Age Spots
Uneven skin tone, dark spots and patches of discolouration can develop gradually and be difficult to shift with skincare alone. The right clinical treatment can make a significant difference, targeting pigmentation at its source and restoring a clearer, more even complexion.
UNDERSTANDING THE CONCERN
What is Pigmentation
Pigmentation changes are extremely common and occur when the skin produces uneven amounts of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. Prolonged sun exposure is the most frequent cause, but hormonal changes, post-inflammatory marks from breakouts and certain medications can all trigger similar changes.
Pigmentation can sit at different depths in the skin, which is why some discolouration responds quickly to treatment while other types require a more sustained approach.
What is Melasma
Melasma presents differently, appearing as larger, more diffuse areas of pigmentation often triggered by hormonal changes and made worse by sun exposure. It can be more persistent than other forms of pigmentation and benefits from a combined approach of clinical treatment and carefully chosen home skincare.
What are Age Spots
Age spots, also known as solar lentigines, are flat brown or grey patches that develop on areas regularly exposed to the sun, most commonly the face, hands and décolletage. They are harmless but can make skin look older than it feels.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Dark spots or patches that have appeared gradually over time
Uneven skin tone that foundation can cover but never fully correct
Pigmentation that gets worse in summer or after sun exposure
Brown or grey patches across the cheeks, forehead or upper lip
Spots or marks left behind after a blemish has healed
Discolouration that appeared or worsened during or after pregnancy
Patches that have been present for years and never fully faded
Recommended Treatments
Pigmentation responds best to treatments that target melanin directly and encourage healthy skin renewal. These are the treatments we recommend.
Pigmentation Correction
Dye-VL advanced light technology targets excess melanin in the skin, breaking it down so it can be naturally cleared by the body. Tailored to the type, depth and pattern of your pigmentation for precise, effective results.
