Body Concerns
Stretch Marks and Body Scarring
Stretch marks and surgical scars, including C-section scars, are among the most common concerns we treat in clinic. Whether they developed during pregnancy, growth or after surgery, the right resurfacing treatment can significantly improve their texture and appearance.
UNDERSTANDING THE CONCERN
What Causes Stretch Marks and Surgical Scars
Stretch marks develop when the skin is stretched rapidly, through pregnancy, growth spurts, significant weight change or body building, faster than the collagen and elastin fibres can adapt. The fibres tear, leaving visible linear marks that initially appear red or purple and fade to a pale, textured scar over time.
Surgical scars, including C-section scars, form when the skin heals after a procedure. Depending on how the wound heals, the result can range from a fine line to a thickened, raised or tethered scar. Neither stretch marks nor surgical scars resolve on their own, but both respond well to the right resurfacing treatment.
SOUND FAMILIAR?

A C-section or surgical scar that has never fully settled
Marks that appeared during pregnancy, growth or weight change
A raised, thickened or tethered scar that catches your attention

Recommended Treatments
Improving the appearance of stretch marks and surgical scars works best with a resurfacing approach that stimulates the skin to remodel from within. These are the treatments we recommend.
Body Resurfacing
iPixel fractional ablative laser creates precise micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen remodelling, improving the texture and surface appearance of stretch marks and scars. Results are gradual and continue to improve over the months following treatment, with a course of sessions usually required.
