Skin Concerns
Thread Veins
Visible thread veins and broken capillaries can appear gradually and become increasingly difficult to ignore. Whether they appear as fine red lines across the cheeks and nose or as a more diffuse network of vessels, they tend to worsen over time without treatment. The right clinical approach can significantly reduce their appearance, leaving skin looking clearer and more even.
UNDERSTANDING THE CONCERN
What are Thread Veins
Thread veins, also called broken capillaries or telangiectasia, are small, dilated blood vessels that become visible close to the surface of the skin. They most commonly appear on the cheeks, nose and chin, and can create a persistently red or mottled appearance.
They develop as the walls of superficial vessels weaken over time, often influenced by genetics, cumulative sun exposure and temperature changes. Thread veins on the face are very common and become more pronounced with age, but they do not resolve on their own.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Fine red or purple lines across the cheeks, nose or chin
A network of small vessels that has grown more noticeable over time
Redness that stays visible even when your skin feels calm
Skin that looks blotchy or uneven in photographs
Vessels that have worsened after years of sun exposure
A persistently red nose or cheeks that skincare cannot improve
Recommended Treatments
Thread veins respond well to targeted laser treatment that collapses visible vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. These are the treatments we recommend.
Thread Vein and Rosacea Management
Dye-VL laser energy is absorbed by the oxyhaemoglobin within visible vessels, causing the vessel wall to collapse and the vein to gradually fade. Comfortable with no downtime and visible improvement typically seen after the first session.
